BLACKFOOT â€” Local Idaho Power employees give back each year to various local non-profit organizations, including the Bingham Crisis Center.
Regional Idaho Power employees donate to an employee community service fund throughout the year. Those funds are then matched by Idaho Power and distributed to various non-profit agencies throughout the region from Pocatello to Salmon. The fund is employee-governed and gives to various organizations providing health and human services to individuals.
On Wednesday, representatives from Idaho Power presented a check to the Bingham Crisis Center, something they have done for several years.
"It's definitely a way to give back to the community and help a need that's out there," said Buzz Pfeiffer, Idaho Power customer representative.
Bingham Crisis Center Executive Director Dixie Chapman said the funds they receive from Idaho Power are undesignated and can be used wherever there is a need. She said she is thankful for the support from Idaho Power. It's employees also adopt a family each Christmas through the Crisis Center.
"They go above and beyond," Chapman said.
