Idonna Gibbons, 78
GOODING — Idonna Gibbons, 78, of Gooding, died peacefully at her home on Monday Aug. 13, 2012.
She was born Jan. 11, 1934 in Shelley, the daughter of Tom and Illa Rowley.
Idonna graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1952. She spent most of her youth working as a waitress in her father's restaurant, the Blue Plate.
Idonna married Larry Kolsen and they had four children. They were later divorced. In 1985 she married Eugene Bowerman and they spent many years "snowbirding" in Arizona until Gene's health failed and they settled in Jerome, where Gene later passed. Idonna married Don Gibbons in Las Vegas, Nev., on Nov. 24, 1997. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River, Utah, LDS Temple. They made their home in Jerome and following Don's passing in 2009, she moved to Gooding.
Idonna was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in a variety of callings. She was a hard worker and had many different jobs during her lifetime. Idonna was especially proud of the time she spent working in the Apollo Space Program while living in Utah, but her favorite "occupation" was taking care of her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
Idonna is survived by four children; Kristy (Dennis) Pope of Blackfoot, Sandra (Duane) Kuhn of Gooding, Susan (Ted) Gavin of Boise and Kent (Melissa) Kolsen of Gooding. She is also survived by her sister Jeneal Christensen; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; five stepchildren, Christene (Nolan) Gray, Georgene (Gaylon) Drake, Duane (Jan) Gibbons, Bonnie (Jerry) Higgins and Donette (Mike) Neuteboom; 30 step-grandchildren, 47 step-great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Tom Rowley, two husbands and one grandson, Brodie Kolsen.

A visitation will be conducted FridayAug. 17, 2012, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.., Saturday Aug. 18, 2012, in the Blackfoot LDS 3rd Ward, 845 Grant, Blackfoot, with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery in Blackfoot.
