Ira "Glenn" Eddington Jr., 59, of Blackfoot passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 as a result of a malignant brain tumor. He died where he wanted to, at home with his wife.
Glenn was born on Oct. 25, 1954 in Calexico, Calif. to Ira Glenn Eddington Sr. and Janice Elaine McLaughlin. During his younger years, Glenn’s family moved all over California due to his father’s employment. As a teenager, Glenn worked as a farm and ranch hand. His family relocated to Oregon when Glenn was 15. He later owned Triple E Drywall with his father and brother, Jeff.
At the age of 18, he married Catherine Bateman. They were blessed with four sons. They later divorced.
It was in Oregon that he met his sweetheart Nina Jill Jowers and her 3 children. They were married on Aug. 27, 1981, in Hillsboro, Ore. Right after the wedding, they packed up all seven children and moved to Blackfoot where they have lived ever since. They were later blessed with two more sons.
Glenn worked at AMI Semiconductor for 9 years until his health would no longer allow him to work.
In 1993, Glenn joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Glenn and Nina’s marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1994.
In his free time, Glenn enjoyed riding his Harley, collecting knives and guns, hunting, fishing, and shooting his black powder guns. He was a member of the Fort Henry Buck Skinners for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his family, but he especially loved bragging about his grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Nina of Blackfoot; children, Paul (Sandy) Eddington of Pocatello, Ira Glenn Eddington III, deceased (Dina), Trena Nalley (Ben Nelson) of Basalt, Michael (Alyssa) Eddington of Groveland, Wayne Eddington of Ammon, Jeff (Mindy) Eddington of Blackfoot, Patrick (Meri) Eddington of Ammon, Kyle Eddington of Blackfoot and Jacob (Ashley) Eddington of Pocatello; mother, Janice Eddington of Blackfoot; brother Jeffrey Allen Eddington of Texas; and 16 grandchildren.
