James Zundel, 86, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, March 18, 2011, at the Renaissance Assisted Living Center in Blackfoot.
He was born July 5, 1924, in Huntsville, Utah, to Jacob A. Zundel and Emma Jean Dial.
James served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was trained as an x-ray technician for the military.
James married Lillian Mae Martin on Sept. 18, 1950, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and professionally played golf and baseball. James also enjoyed fishing and metal detecting.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Max (Mary) Martin of Moreland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen, two brothers, Earl and Mont.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Hawker Funeral Home.
The family will meet with friends Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
Military honors will be presented at the funeral home at the conclusion of services by Stewart Hoover Post #23. Burial will follow at the Norton Cemetery in McCammon.
