FORT HALL — Job hunters who attended the spring job fair at the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel & Event Center in Fort Hall on Wednesday were pleasantly surprised at the number of employers represented who are ready to hire now or in the near future. The two-day event , sponsored by the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation and 477 Programs, offered job training workshops on Tuesday followed by the job fair featuring 20 employers with information on careers and job opportunities.
Job seekers said they were impressed with the variety of jobs represented at the fair. Those included jobs in banks, healthcare, agriculture, energy and retail.
Wells Fargo recruitment officer Amanda Emerick attended the fair from Boise because the bank is seeking employees at branches in Blackfoot, Aberdeen and Pocatello.
"We are hiring now and looking for good people," Emerick said. "We've had some great success here finding potential employees."
Portneuf Medical Center recruitment coordinator Heather Wright said that PMC in Pocatello is currently hiring as well.
