Kelly K. Thomas, 68, of Blackfoot passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Kimballâ€™s Residential Care Facility in Blackfoot.
Kelly was born April 13, 1944 in Pocatello to Robert K. Thomas and Mable Thomas.Â He attended school in Pocatello, graduating from Highland High School.Â He then attended and graduated from Idaho State University's Vo-Tech program in Merchandising Management and Auto Body.Â He worked a number of years in auto body and at Idaho State University.
He made his home in Blackfoot at Kimballâ€™s Residential Care Facility.
Kelly is survived by his brother, Danel Thomas of Fruitland; sister, Marilyn (Bob) Colson of Blackfoot; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Beverlee Gaye.
Kelly loved nature, fishing and art.Â He was an avid reader, loved music and enjoyed friends and helping paint cars and construction.Â He always liked a fishing trip and rock collecting and giving things to others.Â He loved to play Santa Claus every Christmas.
Kelly was baptized a Christian and was a loving man.
He struggled with his health and was disabled for many years, but so appreciated his home at Kimballâ€™s and all the friends he made there.Â He found peace and called it home.
A memorial service will be held at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.Â Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.Â
A luncheon will be served for all at the United Methodist Church across from the funeral home after the memorial service.Â
Interment of ashes will take place at the Malad Cemetery at a later date.Â
