Kent Nakamura, 54

Kent Nakamura, 54, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Kent was born on Feb. 24, 1958 in Blackfoot to Tugi Nakamura and Tsuneko “Cindy” Kawaguchi.  He has spent his lifetime in Blackfoot,  attending grade school in Groveland. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1976.
On June 8, 1978 Kent married Wendy Scott in Moreland. Together they had four children. 
Kent had farmed and was a mechanic in his early years but will always be known as the Door Pro after 20 plus years of owning his own garage door business.  He was a member of the NRA.  In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, building model cars, riding his four- wheeler and his dogs.  He loved and cared for his kids and family.
Kent is survived by his wife, Wendy of Blackfoot; children, Tsuneko (Derek) Lish of Pampa, Texas; Jamie Nakamura of Blackfoot,;Cynthia (Todd) Stapleton of Marbleton, Wyo.; and Brittany Nakamura of Blackfoot; brother, Vance Nakamura of Blackfoot; sisters, Jeanne Nakamura of Blackfoot and Kelly Nakamura of Campbell, Calif.; father-in-aw, Sam “Bud” Scott of Moreland; grandchildren, Anthony Lish, Shadden Lish and Rodney Stapleton; two nephews, Brandon and Phillip Shortman; and one niece, Ashley Berrea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tugi and Cindy Nakamura; his grandmother, Tsugi Nakamura; and nephew, Kim Nakamura.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.  Family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 and for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Groveland Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at condolences@hawkerfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
