Kim Vance Nakamura, 27, of Blackfoot passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, due to medical complications.
Kim was born March 3, 1984, to Vance K. Nakamura and Elizabeth Marie Jimenez in Blackfoot.Â He attended school in the Blackfoot School District, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 2002.Â Except for a short time in California he spent his entire life in Southeast Idaho.
He owned and operated â€śTil Death Tattoo Shopâ€ť and also worked as a sushi chef.Â In his free time he enjoyed creating and producing rap music, drawing, shooting guns, riding dirt bikes, fishing, and playing video games. Above all else he liked spending time with his family.
Kim is survived by his significant other, Starr Bynum of Blackfoot; daughter, Akira Elizabeth Nakamura (5 years old) of Blackfoot; step-son, Robert Spencer Harrah (15 years old) of Blackfoot; step-daughter, Kaysia Starr Harrah (12 years old) of Blackfoot; parents, Vance (Deborah) Nakamura of Blackfoot and Beth Heintz of Blackfoot; sisters, Jamie (Matthew) Sather of North Carolina, Ashley Nakamura Berria of Idaho Falls and Amber Mecham of Boise; and grandmother, Pat Chabis of Whitehall, Mont.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Cecil and Fernando Jimenez, Tugi and Cindy Nakamura and Robert Chabis.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Groveland Cemetery.
A viewing will take place Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at the Meridian Center, 310 N. Meridian Street in Blackfoot.
