Our beautiful, loving and vivacious daughter, sister, mother, auntie and friend, Lana Nicole Rosalez, 39, moved on to her next adventure on July 30, 2011.
Lana was born May 2, 1972, in Blackfoot to Bacilio and Elaine Broncho Rosalez and lived her life to the fullest all the way through.
An enrolled member of the Shoshone Bannock Tribes, Lana carried with her a personal sense of deep spirituality, which splashed all over everyone she ever met. She loved her family with her whole being, and shared that love with many close friends, particularly Tonya Gomez, her sister in love, and Tonya’s parents, Gloria and Dennis Hansen.
Lana shared a large part of her life with John Best and together they created, loved and raised daughter Bethany and son Britain. Lana shared the final chapter of her life with Joshua Gibson.
Lana never did anything halfway, and was an accomplished writer and published poet, her children were her inspiration and her first concern and she reflected that love and caring in her poetry.
Lana was a free spirit, who loved to laugh and make everyone around her laugh. Anything outrageous was her personal choice, and if there was noise and joy and fun, Lana was sure to be found in the middle of it. She wasn’t afraid to explore life, and lived it on her own terms. She loved to gamble, and spend time with her family and friends, and will be forever loved until we meet again.
Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Bacilio and Elaine; and her grandparents, Lizzie Marie and Alfred Broncho.
Lana will watch over her loved ones until they are united again, children, Bethany Nicole Best and Britain John Best of Salt Lake City, Utah; and brothers and sisters, Julie DeHerrera of Salt Lake City, Utah; John Spencer of Idaho Falls; Danny Kniffen of South Jordan, Utah; Natalie Broncho-Hardy of Pocatello, Idaho, Dirk Rosalez of Blackfoot, Idaho, Myles (Jennifer) Gallardo of Fort Hall; Deanna (Juvenal) Gallardo-Garcia of Blackfoot and Brandon Gallardo of Idaho Falls.
Donations will be accepted at the time of services. A funeral service will held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at the funeral home and for one hour prior to services. Interment will follow the service on Saturday at Gibson Cemetery in Fort Hall. The family would like to invite all of Lana’s friends to join them for a Celebration of Life at Eagle Lodge, Highway 91 and Truchot Roads, Fort Hall, directly after the services.
Rest in peace Lana, we love you.
