LaRue Fackrell Cox. July 25, 1924-Jan. 14, 2014
LaRue F. Cox passed away quietly at home Jan. 14, 2014.
LaRue was born July 25, 1924 in the home of her parents at Thomas. LaRue was the third of six children born to Lewis N. Fackrell and Amanda M. Dance Fackrell. She joined sister Thelda and brother Quinten. Eventually brothers Ivan and Arlis and sister Lois completed the family.Â
LaRue grew up on the family farm. She loved the outside work . Her love of plants and animals and all living things stayed with her all of her life. She went to school in Rockford and Thomas, graduating from Thomas High School in 1942.
She married the love of her life, Orson (Bud) Cox on Oct. 2, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Groveland. LaRue lived in San Diego, Calif,;Â Chicago, Ill.Â and Brooklyn, N.Y. during Budâ€™s time in the service.Â They then moved back to Groveland to stay.Â To this union were born four children: CaRene (Dennis) Heap, Kim (Brenda) Cox, Jacquelyn (Howard) Nation and Leisa (Clark) Fields.Â
Bud and LaRue served an 18-month LDS mission to the Philippines and then later returned to serve for 6 more months at the Manila Temple. They were ordinance workers at the Idaho Falls Temple when they returned from Manila.Â
LaRue was predeceased by her parents Lewis and Amanda; by her sister Thelda and her brothers Quinten and Arlis; and her husband, Bud.
Survivors include her brother Ivan Fackrell and her sister Lois (Jack) Worlton. Also surviving are her four children: CaRene, Kim, Jacquelyn and Leisa; 18 grandchildren and 40 great- grandchildren at present.Â
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. Â 18, 2014 at the Groveland LDS Chapel.Â The family will meet with friends on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to the service at the church.Â Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com.
