LaVerda Bingham, 95

LaVerda Bingham, 95, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
LaVerda was born August 11, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert Henry Walton and Edith May Petersen. She was a long time resident of Moreland, graduating from Moreland High School. 
On September 23, 1941 LaVerda married Dwight L. Bingham in the Logan LDS Temple.
LaVerda was an expert homemaker and housewife. She also cooked for Snake River High School, I.N.L. and worked at the University of Idaho Extension Office. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and gardening.                                                                                                                                          LaVerda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served two missions with Dwight in Ventura, California and the Church History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also served in numerous organizations, including Relief Society President and in the Primary Presidency.
LaVerda is survived by her husband, Dwight of Blackfoot, Idaho; sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Bingham of Meridian, Idaho and Kurt (JaLene) Bingham of Blackfoot, Idaho; daughters, Susan Churchward of West Jordan, Utah, Janette Vogt of Fountain Green, Utah and Kristie (Michael) Whiting of Moreland, Idaho; brother, Don Walton of Blackfoot, Idaho; 24 grandchildren; and 57 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Leo Walton and Les Walton, step-brother  Eugene Walton sisters, Ardella Grimmett,  Ethel Brown, Pearl Conkie, Merle Allen and Erma Perkes.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Moreland 5th Ward LDS Chapel, with Bishop Kay Martin conducting.
The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will follow at the Moreland Cemetery.
