law enforcement investigating alleged incident near I-15

January 25, 2012

FORT HALL — Local law enforcement officers are investigating a reported altercation that took place on the side of Interstate 15 near Fort Hall.
A passerby called 911 and reported that she saw three people—two men and one woman—in an altercation on the side of the road, Shoshone-Bannock Tribes spokesperson Randy'L Teton said.
Fort Hall Police, Idaho State Police and the Bingham County Sheriff's Office responded. Teton said Bingham County Sheriff's officers located a white male walking northbound toward Blackfoot wearing shorts, a t-shirt and no shoes. That individual has denied involvement in the incident but was taken into custody, Teton said.
The other two individuals left the scene traveling southbound toward Pocatello in a blue car with 8B license plates.
None of the individuals involved are tribal members, Teton said. It has not been confirmed if weapons were involved or if anyone was injured in the alteration.
