Bill Duke, president of Grand Teton Local Lodge 2006 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers presented a check for nearly $2,000 to the Bingham County SouthEastern Idaho Community Action (SEICAA) Agency on Wednesday.
Staff members Angel Pitchford and Ofelia Osegura accepted the donation on behalf of the agency. Program coordinator Bobette Beasley was out of the office for training.
"We don't get a lot of cash donations this time of year," Beasley said. "To get a nice chunk in the spring will help build up our bank account a little bit.
"We're always thankful for donations," Beasley continued. "We will make sure this goes to help those most in need in our community."
Duke said the lodge conducted its annual winter social recently and collected donations for various charities. The lodge membership collected $839 for SEICAA and the union matched that contribution for the total of $1,678.
