Maggie Ann Roland, 28, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Lifecare Center in Idaho Falls, from complications of Prader-Willis Syndrome.
Maggie was born August 22, 1982 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Duane and Carla Irene Hoffhine Roland. She moved with her family to Blackfoot before she turned one and has resided in Blackfoot since. She attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 2001.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was happy to be able to attend the temple on June 5, 2010.
Maggie has worked at Southeast Idaho Developmental Center since 2005.
Maggie loved horses and learned to ride. She was able to participate in the Special Olympics, winning two blue ribbons in the horseback riding event.
Maggie was a special young lady with varied interests. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, playing family and computer games. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, but because of her illness, she always started a puzzle from inside and worked to the outside. She loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Maggie is survived by: her parents, Duane and Carla Irene Roland, of Blackfoot; two brothers, Kurt (Jodi) Roland, James Miller, II, both of Idaho Falls; three sisters, Laura Wessel, of Fort Hall, Cami (Byron) Young, Kristin (Mike) Bybee, both of Idaho Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: one sister, Nichole Miller, her grandmother, Irene Hoffhine and grandparents, James I. and Wilma Roland.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Highland LDS Stake Center, 1650 Highland Drive, Blackfoot.
The family will meet with friends and relatives from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
Interment will follow in the Ammon Cemetery.
