BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Sheriff's Department released the name of the adult male who died Christmas night in the single-wide mobile home fire west of Blackfoot.
Larry Alan Permann, age 67, died in this blaze.
Blackfoot firemen received an emergency call at 7:23 p.m. on Tuesday. They arrived on scene at 380 N. 1200 W. about 15 minutes later.
"The mobile home was fully engulfed when the firemen arrived," said Blackfoot Fire Captain David Krumenacker. "The roof came down on it."
"Firemen needed to peel the roof back to search for the victim," he said.
Firemen were on scene three hours.
Three fire engines, seven firefighters and a common vehicle responded to this fire.
"It was an isolated residence," Krumenacker said. "It was completely destroyed."
Fire marshals were on scene Wednesday to determine what caused the blaze. The investigation is ongoing.
Blackfoot firefighters also responded to a fire at a residence at 275 Clifford St. in Blackfoot about 10:30 p.m., about the time they cleared the site of the first fire.
The residents on Clifford Street smelled smoke.
Firemen discovered fire in the wiring in the attic and were able to keep the flames from spreading.
No one was injured. The firemen left the scene about one and one-half hours after their arrival.
