Margene Jensen Van Eps, an 83-year-old Blackfoot resident, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at a local care facility from natural causes.
She was born May 25, 1929, in Woodville, the daughter of Leland J. Jensen and Blanche Taylor Jensen.
Â She has lived most of her life in the Blackfoot area where she also attended schools in her youth until her senior year when she attended and graduated from Shelley High School.
She married John B. Van Eps on May 29, 1947, and they had six children.Â They were later divorced.
Margene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she had worked in the Relief Society and as librarian.Â She also had been a member of the Soroptimist Club and the Professional Women's Organization.
She worked for Dolder Motor in Blackfoot as the credit bookkeeper and later at Pocatello Dodge.
Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, embroidery,Â sewing and gardening.Â She had owned her own craft and ceramic shop in Tyhee.
Survivors include her children, LaRue (Warren) Mauger, Blackfoot; John E. Van Eps, Moreland; Arita Margene(Vaughn) Wagoner, Caldwell; LaVaun (Robert) Sykes, Blackfoot; Lenard J. (Kathy) Van Eps, Moore; and J. Dee (Diana) Van Eps of Twin Falls; 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald and Richard Jensen; and two sisters, her twin Maxine Evans and Barbara Wahlen. and a grandson and great-granddaughter.
Â Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave in Blackfoot.Â The family will meet with friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday for an hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.Â Condolences may be sent to the family at firstname.lastname@example.org,
