Marian E. Packham, 83, a lifetime resident of Blackfoot, passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 at Bingham Memorial Hospital, with her loving husband by her side. Marian was born Jan, 12, 1929 in Blackfoot to Delynn Hepworth and Gladys Chamberlain. She attended school in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School and then spent one year at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
On Dec. 28, 1948 Marian married Charles â€śBudâ€ť Packham in Blackfoot. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Although her most valuable job was being a homemaker and mother, she had her Realtor Agentsâ€™ license and was a successful realtor. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, skiing, backpacking, mountain climbing, and had rafted many of the major rivers. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Marian was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in several of the auxiliaries in the church, including stake Relief Society president.
Marian is survived by her husband, Bud of Groveland; children, Pamela (Rudy) Gonzalez of Pasadena, Texas; Ann (Steve) Merriam of Moscow; Scott O. Packham of Blackfoot; David A. Packham of Park City, Utah; and Lynn (Nile) Hatch of Springville, Utah;,sisters, Dallas (Charles) Horrocks of Blackfoot, Donna (Wayne) VanOrden of Thomas, and Linda Wixom of Blackfoot. She also had 23 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charlie Packham; and sisters, Georgia Hawkes and Norma Carol Hepworth.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at the Groveland LDS Chapel. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will follow at the Groveland Cemetery.
