Marjorie Wilma Doig, 76, of Blackfoot, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at The Gables in Shelley of an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 5, 1934, in White Sulfur Springs, Mont., the daughter of Robert Jess and Anis Hilary Ailey. She was raised by her stepmother Ruth Louise Ailey.
Wilma was raised and educated in White Sulfur Springs.
On Sept. 4, 1951, she married William â€śBillâ€ť Doig in Livingston, Mont.
They lived in Big Timber, Livingston, and White Sulfur Springs, Mont., and moved to Blackfoot in 1963.
She worked in various jobs and enjoyed gardening, flowers, puzzles and word search puzzles. She enjoyed her grandchildren and traveling to see her mom. She liked her cookbooks and making apple pie and chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by her children, Robert W. (Jan) Doig of Afton, Wyo.; James S. (Kim) Doig of Blackfoot;, Linda L. (Gary) Kimball of Mackay and Mark A. (Debbie) of Blackfoot; sister, Mary Ellen Arnold of Montana; 11 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Ă¬BillĂ® Doig;, son, Raymond Scott Doig; daughter, Gail Marie Doig; brother Perry Ailey and sisters, Jessie Ness and Dorothy Nickerson.
A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1110 Parkway Dr., Blackfoot.
The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
