Mary Buckland, 91, of Blackfoot, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Idaho Falls Care and Rehab.
She was born November 21, 1919 in Blackfoot, Idaho the daughter of Harry Hamilton and Bertha Marriott.Â Her youth was spent with summers on the ranch in Springfield and the school year in the Blackfoot until American Falls Dam took the ranch.
Mary lived in the Blackfoot area most of her life and received her education in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1937.
She married Darrow Felsted on January 28, 1938 and they had one son, Ron Felsted.Â They were later divorced.Â She then married Bill Buckland in Reno, Nevada in 1958.
All of their spare time was spent at their cabin on Burns Creek above Heise. They raised quarter horses for racing, riding and hunting.Â Her other hobbies were bowling, sewing, working with photographs, flowers and spending time with grandkids and great grandkids.
In 1995 she moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to Ron.
She is survived by her son, Ron (Sharon) Felsted of Idaho Falls; one step-son, Jon (Sharon) Buckland of Blackfoot, a foster niece Nadean Neitzel of Blackfoot,Â five grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Freddy, Glen, Walt and John Hamilton and a sister, Thelma Clark.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.
The family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
