Mary Lou McLaughlin Jones, 104, was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Salt Lake City, Utah,
the daughter of Willard and Pricilla Rose Talbot McLaughlin. She was the fourth of six children.
The family moved to Pocatello where Mary attended schools.
She married Leonard Elmer Jones on June 19, 1924, in American Falls.Their
marriage was solemnized in The Salt Lake LDS Temple in March 1944.
Three children were born to this union, Mary Louise, Robert Leonard and Thomas Lorenzo.
Mary lived in Pocatello and Thomas and The Dalles, Ore. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, bird watching, flowers and traveling. She was active in the LDS Church and served a LDS Mission.
Mary Lou passed away on July 28, 2011, at her daughterâ€™s home. She is survived by her children, Mary Louise Wilcox and her husband Russell of The Dalles, Ore.; Robert L. Jones of Billings, Mont.; and Thomas L. Jones and his wife Rita of Wasilla, Alaska; 59 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A viewing will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the LDS Church in The Dalles. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
Burial will be on Aug. 4, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Restlawn Memorial Garden Cemetery in
