Michael Lawrence Lambert, 58 year old Idaho Falls resident, formerly of Blackfoot, died Saturday, January 21, 2012, at his home following an extended illness.
He was born October 12, 1953, in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Richard J. Lambert and Carol Lee Merkley.
He lived most of his life in Blackfoot where he attended school and grew up working with his father on the family farm. It was during these early years that his love for the soil, crops and farming were developed.
He married Debbie Ann Fullmer on June 10, 1971. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2005. He married Joan Chapple on August 17, 2003, in Kennewick, WA.
Mike farmed for many years throughout the Blackfoot area and had successful ventures in various agriculture businesses. Later in his life he moved to Washington and managed a J.R. Simplot farm in the Kennewick area. He was blessed with the ability of working the soil and took great pride in his farming accomplishments.
Mike had many interests such as aviation, scuba diving and fishing. But his true joy came from boating, camping and riding his motorcycle with his family. Family was Mike’s main priority and he especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mike was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was by these values and beliefs that lead him in this life and gave him hope in the one to come. Those who knew him well valued his friendship and could always count on him for help and support. His unique ability to transcend all walks of life is a tribute to the person he was. His strength of character and sheer determination was a standard that he lived by and was an example to his family and friends.
