Myrna Lee Still Devaney, 81, of Downey, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at her home in Downey.Â
Myrna was born on July 30, 1931 in Paxton, Neb., to Clinton Edman and Roma Wamsley Still.Â She was raised in Nebraska until she was 7 at which time her family moved to Idaho, eventually settling in Springfield where her mother worked for many years as the telephone switchboard operator.Â She attended grade school in Springfield and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1949.Â Upon graduation she continued her education in Pocatello and earned her LPN license.Â
On Nov. 21, 1950 Myrna married Donald Devaney, Sr. in Pocatello.Â Together they had 5 children and made their home in Inkom.Â Donald preceded Myrna in death in 1970.Â
Following Donaldâ€™s passing she moved to Pocatello and later moved to American Falls and then to Weiser, working as an LPN in each communityâ€™s hospital.Â Upon retirement Myrna returned to Southeast Idaho to be near family and eventually settled in Downey.
Myrna was a Christian and attended the Christian Church in Downey.Â She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading and crocheting.Â
Myrna is survived by 2 sons, John (Diane) of Downey and Donald Jr. of American Falls; 3 daughters, Donna Lynn Devaney of Maryland, Julie (Tom) Buccahister of Carson City, Nev.; and Jamie Lee Zimmer of Idaho Falls; a brother, Gerald (Maria) Still of Pocatello; a sister, Judy Still of Chubbuck; 3 grandchildren, Miguel, Jennifer and Arlie; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 3 brothers, Kenneth Burk, and twins, James and John.Â
A visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Downey LDS Church.Â Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Inkom Cemetery.
