National pattern racers competing in Blackfoot

Morning News — Leslie Mielke These riders were competing in Western Jumping, category ages 8-11, at the National Saddle Clubs Association's O-Mok-See in Blackfoot. O-Mok-See is the sport of pattern horse racing. Competition continues through Friday. Today's events begin at 9 a.m. at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. They include Barrel & Stake, Polo Turn, Express Rescue, Speed Barrels and Pair Sack. Riders compete in various age groups from 7 and under to senior men and women.
