Ethel May Clement, 98, of Pocatello, and formerly of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Hillcrest Haven.
She was born Nov. 25, 1913, in Miniota, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of John George Baldwin and Ethel Porter. She attended school through the ninth grade.
On May 29, 1957, she married Hilbert Clement in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1994. Ethel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Â She served as Relief Society president and served a mission in 1950 in the North Central Mission in Rochester, Minn.
She and her husband operated Bird Hotel for 30 years and worked on the farm.Â Â Ethel enjoyed sewing, gardening,
flowers, horses, photography and people.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, Linda Lou Hart ,and niece, Carol Stevens of Pocatello.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert; parents, brothers, Arthur and Bert Baldwin; sisters, Elsie Petty and Doris Youngs.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at the Moreland Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug.16, 2012, and from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
