Orris Ray Eyler, 83, of Blackfoot and a longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 at the Bingham Extended Care Facility in Blackfoot.
Orris was born to Orris Ray Eyler Sr and Bernita Middleton Eyler. He lived most of his life in Pocatello and was active in aviation; being a pilot and owning his own plane. He also enjoyed collecting antique guns and built many boats.
He graduated from Idaho State University in auto body repair and aircraft mechanics. He served the US Army during the Korean Conflict for two years in Germany.
Orris never married and is survived by his two brothers, Kay (Susan) of Blackfoot and Robert (Ruby) of Cookville, Tenn.; one sister, Bernita Clark of Bountiful, Utah. He also is survived by one niece, several nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at the Mountainview Cemetery in Pocatello. Final military rites will be presented at the service.
