Paul Renshaw Solem, 91, of Blackfoot went behind the veil on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at The Willows in Blackfoot.
Paul was born Jan. 28, 1921 in Springfield, Illinois, to Paul Gerhart and Lutie Viola Renshaw. He was raised in Illinois. His father was a fur coat salesman, so he did a lot of traveling with him, which was Paulâ€™s passion.
Paul was known as the â€śFlying Saucer Prophetâ€ť and held several lectures throughout his life all over the Western states. Paul lived with and was accepted by the Hopi Indians of New Mexico for several years.
He was the only white man who was taught the Hopi prophecies. He has lived in the Blackfoot area since the 1980â€™s.
Paul is survived by his niece, Nancy Prather of Glendale, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot with Perry Hawker conducting.
