Pedro Pelayo, Jr. 23, of Blackfoot passed away at his home, Monday, June 13, 2011.
He was born June 12, 1988 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Pedro Pelayo, Sr. and Bertha Alicia Moreno.
Pedro attended Blackfoot Schools and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 2006. He participated all four high school years on the soccer team.
On October 28, 2006, he married Angela Patricia Luna in Blackfoot, Idaho.
He joined the Marines and served from 2006-2008.
He was a parishioner of the Catholic Church.
He worked for Wada Farms as a field laborer, and had just recently completed CDL training and was looking forward to driving truck.
Pedro enjoyed playing soccer, hunting, fishing (especially fly fishing with his dad), and watching movies. He loved spending time with his family and loved them, especially his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife, Angela of Blackfoot; children, Alyza (1 yr. old), Samantha (4 yr. old) of Blackfoot; father, Pedro Pelayo, Sr. of Pocatello, and Bertha Pelayo of Blackfoot; brother, Arnold Pelayo of Blackfoot (attending college in Moscow, Idaho); sister, Griselda (Samuel) Gomez of Blackfoot; grandparents, Juventino (Pilar) Ramirez (God Parents) of Blackfoot; Aurelia Alencastro of Mexico, father-in-law and mother-in-law Arturo and Marin Espinoza of Blackfoot, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Manuel Pelayo and grandparents, Juan and Maria de Jesus Moreno.
He will be loved and missed by the people he left behind.
A funeral mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
A rosary service will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, June 15, 2011 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho and the family will continue to visit with friends until 9:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
