Police agencies involved in standoff

Bingham County deputies, as well as agencies from Bannock County and Fort Hall, were involved in a standoff on Reservation Road late Wednesday night.
According to scanner traffic, the incident began as a high-speed chase after an unidentified man fired shots at a Bingham County residence. Deputies were then involved in a high-speed chase during which the suspect told a dispatcher to have deputies back off or he would kill himself.

Further details of the event-
Bannock County police have Jeremy Andrus in custody after they say he threatened to kill his ex-wife, their three young children and himself. Shots were fired at a Blackfoot home sometime Wednesday night. The family is shaken but unharmed.

Andrus then left in his truck and traveled South on Hwy 91. Bingham Co. Sheriffs Office pursued in a high speed chase into Fort Hall. Using spike strips, Andrus was stopped at the intersection of Reservation Rd. and Hwy 91. It was then that Andrus stepped out of the vehicle, which reportedly had caught fire, and threatened to kill himself. No shots were fired at the standoff.
