Ralph Roy Reeves, 83; of Pingree passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 in Pocatello at the Portneuf Medical Center.
Ralph was born on October 26, 1927 in Adair County, Iowa the son of Carl Delmar and Winnifred Alberta Ford Reeves.
He served in the Army Air force Reserves and served in WWII.
He married Suzanne Howe on October 26, 1958 in Greenfield, Iowa. She passed away January 1, 1976.
He married Nancy Reed on June 15, 1990 in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Ralph was raised and educated in Iowa. He moved to Soda Springs, Idaho in 1966 where he worked as a teacher for a few years. Then he began work for KERR-MCGEE Corporation where he worked for 31 years until he retired and moved to Pingree in 1997.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was also active Mason for 50 years, a member of the Twin Buttes Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and had also been a member of the Search and Rescue for many years.
Ralph enjoyed geology, gardening, photography, reading and hunting. He had a lifelong thirst of knowledge and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife Nancy of Pingree, ID; two sons, Audra and Carol Reeves of Blackfoot, ID; Mike Reeves of Soda Springs, ID; a step-son Ferris and Wendy Wright of Blackfoot, ID; and two step-daughters, Annette Wright of Logan, UT; Loraine and Brad Smith of Blackfoot, ID; and an adoptive daughter Kathy Mcminton and Scott Makenzie of Soda Springs, ID. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and a sister Luella Gardella of Reno, NV; and two sister-in-laws Pat Reeves of Greenfield, Iowa; Helen Reeves of Creston, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby sister, Ruth Carleen Reeves, two brothers Dale and Dean, and wife Suzanne and a brother-in-law Tony Gardella.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Soda Springs Presbyterian Church. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to going to the church for services.
Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. Military Graveside services will be conducted by the Soda Springs American Legion Post 62, VFW Post 9141 and the Idaho Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donation be made to the National Lions Club Leader Dog Sight and Hearing Foundation.
Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
