Relay for Life looks to increase sponsorships

February 13, 2014

BLACKFOOT — As this year's Bingham County "Relay for Life" event moves forward for its annual June 13 fundraiser, organizers are grateful for the sponsors and teams who are on board and eager to welcome more.
With this year's theme of "Be Someone's Hero" and a goal of $120,000, Relay for Life co-chair Dawn Larsen said, "We would like to once again thank our sponsors for their continuing support in our efforts to fight all types of cancer in our community. As we visit the businesses this year, we hope that you will take the opportunity to be a sponsor."
Larsen said that in the past, the small town of Blackfoot has surpassed the Idaho Falls event in the amount of money raised for cancer research from the event.
"It's a friendly competition, but Last year Idaho Falls beat us and earned more money," Larsen explained. "I'd like to see us surpass Idaho Falls again and we can do this by adding more sponsors and teams.
So far, Bingham County "Relay for Life" sponsors include: Bingham Memorial Hospital, Walmart, Morning News, Steve Goodwin Farms, Basic American Foods, Riverbend Communications, Blackfoot Golf Course, S & G Electric, Hawker Funeral Home, Hub International, Portneuf Medical Center, Milestone, Powell's Auto Body, Dennis Hatch Dental, Hales Auto Repair, MBA Construction, Pacific Source Health Plans, Sanchez Trucking, Animal Health Clinic, Twin Buttes Lion's Club, Snake River Sanitation, Eastern Idaho State Fair, Harmony & Nick Photography, Blackfoot Home Health and Pro Rental.
