BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise man accused of what police describe as a road-rage shooting death has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1LVLnUG ) that Shawn Fisher told a judge Wednesday that he purposely aimed a handgun at Matthew Mohler-Kerns and fired, but that he did not intend to kill him.

Boise police say Fisher rammed into a car and fired a bullet into the driver's side door over a parking dispute in February 2013. Minutes later, he allegedly shot and killed Mohler-Kerns as he sat in his car.

A judge committed Fisher to a prison mental health program after finding he was mentally ill. He was later found competent to stand trial.

Fisher faces a minimum of 10 years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 30.
