Obituary

Ronald Dean Meeks, 70, of Fort Hall passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at his home in Fort Hall.
 Ronald was born on Feb. 26, 1942, in Pocatello to Raymond and Juanita Kaka Meeks.  He was raised in Fort Hall and lived his entire life in the Fort Hall area.  Ronald attended schools in the Fort Hall and Blackfoot school districts.
In June of 1978, Ronald married Sharon Valley.  Together they had three children, one son and two daughters. Ronald was a member of the Episcopal Church.  He worked as a firefighter and as a seasonal farm laborer.  He enjoyed traveling, attending pow-wows, watching movies, painting and spending time with his grandchildren. 
Ronald is survived by his wife Sharon, son Corwin Meeks and a daughter Christen Meeks, all of Fort Hall; two half- sisters, Christine Matsaw and Sharon Wheeler, and three grandchildren, Cselah, Cseville, and Coston Meeks; he is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laneda Meeks; his parents, and a brother, Delton Meeks.
A prayer service was Monday, July 2, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling.  His body will be taken to his residence on Simplot Road on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and remain there until Thursday at 1 p.m. at which time he’ll be taken to Ross Fork Creek cemetery for traditional burial services.
