Rosa Gilbert Rindlisbaker, 95, of Blackfoot, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital and Extended Care in Blackfoot.
She was born Oct. 11, 1915, in Whitney to James Harris Gilbert and Jennie Swainston Gilbert. She was raised and attended schools in Bancroft, graduating from Bancroft High School.
On Nov. 9, 1934, she married Fredrick Christian Rindlisbaker in Logan, Utah; their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Nov. 10, 1942. She worked along with her husband on the family farm in Hatch where they raised their family.
Rosa was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she enjoyed serving in the Young Womenâ€™s and Relief Society organizations. She was a leader in the 4-H Youth Development Organization and taught sewing.
She enjoyed embroidering, sewing, and cooking and loved to support her children and grandchildren in their activities.
She is survived by a daughter, Kaye (Richard) Berrett of Roberts; Doyle (Mary Lou) Rindlisbacher of Providence, Utah; a sister, Ina Liljenquist of Pocatello; Lu Dean (Wesley) Maughan of Logan, Utah; brother, Sidney Gilbert of Orem, Utah; 25 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Clair and Layne, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Wapello 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop James St. John conducting. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday and from 9:30-10:45 a.m., prior to services Saturday, both at the church.
Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery, under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.eckersellfuneral home.com.
