Scouts donate bikes to Toys for Tots

December 15, 2011

BLACKFOOT — Boy Scout
Troop 201 from Riverside
delivered 11 bikes to Toys for
Tots. This project is sponsored
by the Marine Corps Reserve.
“We wanted to give back
to the less fortunate,” said
scout Caden White. “We are
thankful for what we have; we
just wanted to make someone
else’s Christmas.”
The scouts also donated
two bikes to the Bingham
Crisis Center.
People living in the
Riverside contributed the
bikes, said scoutmaster Steve
Fullmer. The scouts put them
together.
Seven scouts and five leaders
worked for four weeks
preparing the bikes.
The scouts who worked
on this project are Tommy
Anderson, Derek Baker,
Caden White, Jaden Poulter,
Matt Blake, Conner Poulter
and Landry Leavitt.
The scoutmasters who
helped are Steve Fullmer,
Bruce Munson, Jason Smith,
Aaron Mackley and Christian
White.
The bikes were delivered to
the Haven Wednesday.
Bar owner Joe Martinez
said this was the first year the
Haven hosted the Toys for Tots
project. Martinez and Pablo
Gamino have recently purchased
the Haven.
Toys for Tots was started
