Shirley Kaye Parker,93

October 1, 2013

Shirley Kaye Stoddard Parker of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away September 27th, 2013 at 93 years of age.    She was the oldest daughter of Phyllis Jane Oldham and LeRoy Glen Stoddard and had survived her siblings Lila, Gordon, Keith and Cork.
Shirley spent her childhood summers in the company of her beloved family at the Stoddard Sawmill in Island Park Idaho, and attended school in Rexburg during the winter months.  She loved to reminisce about her time as a member of the Pepper club with her closest friends Afton, Tonk and Perk.  She graduated from Madison High School and then continued her education for two years at Rick’s College.
She eloped to Shoshone Falls, Idaho with Elbert R. Parker on April 15, 1939.  Together they were the proud parents of twins Jeanne and Jeri, followed by Robert (Bobby) and Kathleen (Kathi).  They raised their children in Idaho and California.
Shirley was happiest in the company of her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her face would light up when she was able to hold and cuddle the babies in her family.  She was a woman of elegance, gentleness and wit.  These qualities and the faith she held fast to enabled her to meet the difficulties that came her way.  She became a pillar of strength for her family, who stayed at her bedside in her last days, ministering to her with the love she had extended to her beloved family.  She stands now as a great example of faith and endurance
She is survived by her children Jeanne and Danny Roth; Jeri Parker;  Kathi and Frank Tomazin; and grandchildren Kirk and Linnea Belnap; Lori and Shawn Dolan; Kristin and Rich Ballou; Heather and Darin Peel;  Amy and Josh Chenney; Michele True; Megan and Brett Christensen; Lacie & Nick Hirschi; Brody and Katie Tomazin and Brett Tomazin.  She is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Parker, son Robert (Bobby) Sinclair Parker and grand-grandchildren Lisa Belnap and Kerry Belnap.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m.  Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.  The family will meet with friends from  9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
