Sho-Ban members honor Miss Indian World

Morning News-Lisa Lete Folks of all ages were eager to greet Taylor Thomas - Miss Indian World. Geraldine Williams of Fort Hall was one of many who came to the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel & Event Center, to congratulate her.

The pride was evident as members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and folks from throughout the region gathered at the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel & Event Center Thursday to honor and congratulate new MIss Indian World - Taylor Thomas. 
Thomas, 21, the current  Miss Shoshone-Bannock  and an Idaho State University student, was crowned Miss Indian World at the "Gathering of Nations" powwow in Albuquerque, New Mexico last week. She also placed first in the interview category of the competition.
Thomas spoke about her experience in the Miss Indian World competition, saying, she was "shocked" that she won.
"I simply went with the intention of doing my very best to represent the best of the Sho-Ban people," she said. "I believe this title happened because of the people and the good energy sent my way. I believe in good energy. Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes."
