Snake River Distinguished Young Women claim awards

The Morning News — Jen Wacaser Snake River Distinguished Young Women contestants show off their strength, endurance and stamina during the fitness portion of last Saturday's performance.

The Distinguished Young Women scholarship program at Snake River High School presented several young girls with awards last Saturday. They included:
Spirit of Distinguished Young Women- $350- Janalyce Turpin.
Be Your Best Self- $300- Jessica Williams, Kimille Furniss, Celeste Gepford.
Scholastic- $300- Celeste Gepford, Lariss Furniss, Malorie Smout.
Interview- $300- Kayla Weight, Annie Whittier, Janalyce Turpin.
Talent- $300-Whitney Powell, Kimille Furniss, Paige Watt.
Fitness-$300-Paige Watt, Janalyce Turpin, Xenia Reyes.
Self Expression- $300- Paige Watt, Janalyce Turpin, Kimille Furniss.
Second Alternate- $1,450-Kimille Furniss.
First Alternate- $1,700- Paige Watt.
2013 Distinguished Young Woman of Snake River- $2,000- Janalyce Turpin.
