Snake River downs Timberlake in state baseball opener

It may not have been the best season for the defending Class 3A state champion Snake River Panthers, but despite the injuries and getting tripped up in the District 5 tournament, the Panthers found their way back to state.
Thursday at Fruitland the Panthers began defense of their title with a healthy team for the first time since the opening weeks of the season.
With the full team at their disposal, coach Rich Dunn and the Panthers jumped on first round opponent Timberlake in the first inning and added a few more runs late on the way to a 7-1 win at Fruitland High School.
