Stanley Paul Smith, 65, of Blackfoot passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
He was born Jan. 8, 1947, in Franklinton, Louisiana, to Glendora Carter.
Stanley was raised in Louisiana and Mississippi.Â Â Â He moved to Blackfoot in 1965. On June 29, 1967 Stanley married his best friend and love of his life, Beverly Jensen. He worked at Halter Marines Shipyard in New Orleans, La. He started working at Spudnik Equipment where he stayed for 32 years.Â Stanley enjoyed spending all of his time with his family hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and going 4-wheeling.Â He was also an avid bowler for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Smith of Blackfoot; son, Stanley W. (Shona) Smith of Groveland; daughters, Kathleen â€śKathyâ€ť P. Smith of Blackfoot and Paulette R. Smith (Kory Soderquist) of Spring Creek, Nev.; mother, Glendora Carter of Baton Rouge, La.; brother, Eddie Earl (Betty Jo) Smith of Lumberton, Miss.; sisters, Deborah (Gabe) Landry of Gonzales, La., Pam Massengale of Pervis, Miss., and Margie Massengale of Poplarville, Miss. and eight grandchildren: Nicholas Irving, Christopher Irving, Shelby Simons, Dillon Mathews, Tasha Smith, Morgan Simons, Nicole Smith and Tylor Smith.
Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the Blackfoot 6th Grade School, 90 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot,.
A direct cremation has taken place under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.Â No other services will be held at this time.
