T-Shirt Shoppe celebrating 15 years

October 1, 2010

(The Morning News—Melanie Moore) Nancy Nation, owner of the T-Shirt Shoppe, is celebrating 15 years of business today. Nation will be at 97 W. Pacific St. from noon until 5 p.m.

BLACKFOOT — Fifteen years ago Nancy Nation decided she wanted a career change. She purchased a small print shop that had a screen printing machine and a retail front. It was then that the T-Shirt Shoppe was founded.
Nation set out with little printing experience. She had a brief lesson from the former owner and was self-taught by reading trade magazines and attending apparel conventions throughout the country.
Nation began designing screen printed t-shirts and embroidery, developing company logos and other designs. Nation said many of the designs in Blackfoot have come from the T-Shirt Shoppe and are still seen today.
While she no longer does her own screen printing, Nation has a contract with a printer for custom orders. She has expanded her embroidery, doing custom design work and embroidery art.
Nation and her husband John travel and are on the road during the winter months. Nation developed two online stores—tshirtshop.com and embroiderybynan.com— in 2000 to enable customers to view catalogs and place orders. She is even able to fill orders while on the road, whether online or over the phone. The T-Shirt Shoppe can be reached by calling 785-6862.
Nation will be showcasing her products and celebrating 15 years of business today from noon until 5 p.m. at 97 W. Pacific St. There will be refreshments served.
