Tex D. Elkington, 18. died unexpectedly after a short illness on Dec. 20, 2012 at EIRMC in Idaho Falls.
Tex was born Oct 25, 1994 in Goshen, the son of Ben Elkington and Carol Cannon.Â Tex grew up in Goshen and recently lived in Rigby, Sugar City and Firth. One of his sisters set up a FB group, â€śWe Love Texâ€ť, and there are over 1,000 members of that group.
He was and Eagle scout, avid hunter and custom-built three rifles. He played his prize fiddle at Bar-T-5 in Jackson, Wyo, with his brothers.Â He was active in his church and involved in seminary, FFA, welding and wrestling. He was planning on serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after graduation from high school.
Tex was right with God when he was taken so suddenly. He forgave everyone that ever offended or hurt him. We should all aspire to be like Tex, he was able to forgive, and so can we.
Tex is survived by his mother, Carol Cannon Sevy; his father Ben E. Elkington; his siblings Chace, Kera, Jud, and Clay; as well as by his step-parents and his many step-brothers and step-sisters.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, Shelley, ID 83274, and at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.at the Firth Idaho Stake Center, 823 N 675 E Basalt.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Firth Idaho Stake Center, 823 N 675 E Basalt. Â Burial will be at Goshen Cemetery following services.
