Tom Lynn Tracy, 36, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011, at his home after a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.
He was born April 10, 1974, in Blackfoot to Johnnie H. Tracy and Loretta George.
Tom has lived his entire life in the Blackfoot area and graduated from Sho-Ban High School. He was a member of the Native American Church and a member of the Sons of American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23.
He worked as a skilled laborer for Sho-Ban Tribes.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mechanic work on cars and watching movies.
He is survived by his father, Johnnie (Carolina) of Blackfoot; brothers, Theron of Blackfoot, Eric (Laura) of Arbon Valley, J.C. Gruber of Fort Hall, Virgil (Wyoma) Tendoy of Blackfoot, Darron Dorsey of Blackfoot; sisters, Joan Tracy of Gibson, Cynthia Tendoy of Chubbuck, Shanna Tendoy of Pocatello, Sarah Tendoy of Fort Hall, Ianne George of Fort Hall; aunts, Donna (Allen) Tindore of Tyhee and Hilda Eldridge of Fort Hall.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Tracy, brother Bert Lee Tohtsani, sister Holly Gruber Murillo, maternal grandparents Sherman George, Sr. and Clara Paddy George and paternal grandparents Tom Lee Tracy and Suzie G. Tracy.
The body will be taken to his sister, Joan Tracyâ€™s home off East Truchot Road, from 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011, until time of service on Thursday.
A traditional burial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Gibson Cemetery under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
