Tuesday accident near 600 West injures three
BLACKFOOT — Three people were transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital after their car struck a truck that was crossing Highway 39 at 600 West Tuesday night.
At 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, Idaho State Police responded to what was reported as a one-vehicle rollover. Upon arriving at the scene it was determined that there were two vehicles involved and the accident was not a rollover.
Blake Harrington, of Chubbuck, was attempting to cross Highway 39 at 600 West. He had stopped at the stop sign, but entered the intersection as a passenger car driven by Laurie Burdick, of Blackfoot, was traveling east on Highway 39 with an adult male and two children in the vehicle, ISP Trooper Aaron Aikele said. Burdick's vehicle struck the truck and both vehicles came to rest on 600 West.
Harrington was wearing his seatbelt and was cited for failure to yield. Burdick was cited for not wearing a seatbelt and for a minor in the vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. The adult male was also cited. Aikele said they believe the other child was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Three people from Burdick's car were transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
