Vera Ann Allison, 82, of Blackfoot, slipped away peacefully, Sept. 12, 2013, at the Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Vera was born May 6, 1931 in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of John and Ellen Bowman. She attended school at Douglas County High School where she graduated in 1949.
In May 1952 she married Bruff AllisonÂ in Denver, Colo. Together they had two children.
Vera was a hard worker and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Â Throughout her life Vera blessed the lives of many with her unconditional love and care. Vera enjoyed the outdoors with her family. She had a great love of fishing and an even greater love for reading.Â She had many wonderful friends and shared years of memorable times with them.Â The greatest love of Veraâs life was the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.Â They, above all else, were the most important things in her life.
She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Chris (Jim) Burkman, of Blackfoot; a son, Cary (Cheri) Allison, of CoeurâdâAlene; a sister, Mary Lou Cummings, of Colorado; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a twin sister Versa Burns.
Â Vera will be missed greatly by her family and members of the community.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at St. Bernards Catholic Church, 584 West Sexton St., Blackfoot.Â The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.Â Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.Â Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com.
