Trustees of the Snake River School District voted to ask their patrons to approve a plant facility levy for $750,000 each year for 10-years at Wednesday's school board meeting. This is the same level of funding that was sought in November.
SR School Board Chair Bill Martin said, "We want to emphasize this plant facility levy is a renewal of a plant facility levy we have had for 30 years. What was previously approved was a $500,000 levy each year for 10 years. The $600,000 being sought by the school district is the increased cost of doing business; the remaining $150,000 each year for 10 years will be used to pay for the needed septic system at the junior and senior high schools."
The election will take place on Tuesday, March 13.
