Juanita Gladys Reynwald Gruvman, 96, of Blackfoot, passed away Oct. 24, 2010, at her daughter’s home.
Gladys was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Idaho Falls to John Henry Reynwald and Juanita Sarah Reed Reynwald. She attended schools in New Sweden and Dewey.
She married Anton Ivan Gruvman on Aug, 10, 1932, in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 26, 1942. They lived in Idaho Falls; Sloat, Calif.; Vallejo, Calif.; and Pocatello. Gladys worked at the Westbank Motel and Roger Brothers Potatoes. Ivan preceded her in death on March 26, 1983.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Gladys enjoyed making homemade candy, crocheting, sewing, writing in rhyme, and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: daughters Elsie (Leon) Perkes, Blackfoot; Shirley (Larry) Andrus, Ucon; sisters: Lois (Duayne) Lee, Denver, Colo.; Veva Foote, Birmingham, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., with both visitations at Woods’ Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
