Ralph Hoopes Stantliff, 86, of Blackfoot, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010, at his home.
He was born March 24, 1924, in Mountain Home to Eldridge and Edith E. Hoopes Stantliff. He attended school in Mountain Home. He has lived up and down the Snake River Valley, mostly in Blackfoot.
Ralph served in the United States Army medical corps during World War II.
He married Jessie Dirks; they were later divorced.
He worked in potato warehouses in various cities. He loved helping others and helping at the Senior Center.
Ralph enjoyed dancing and visiting with everyone at the senior center.
He is survived by his brother, Stan (Alice) Stantliff of Nampa; sister, Della Craig of Tucson, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Vernon and sister Ellen.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, at Hawker Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
Military rites will be presented by the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post #23.
