BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Community Center is asking for volunteers to help prepare and move into their second facility.
Community Center Executive Director Ashlee Howell said they recently secured a second facility at 257 S. Broadway, the former Danny’s Auto building. The second location is located less than one block away from the existing facility.
They plan to convert the space into a youth center with pool table, air hockey, ping pong and a big screen television. The space will also be used for various activities, including a Zumba class to begin this week.
“We’d use it for our older kids after school,” Howell said. She also said the space will be open to the community on weekends.
Volunteers are needed Saturday, Feb. 19 and Feb. 26 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. to help with painting, cleaning and various other projects.
Those wanting more information about specific needs and how they can help can contact Howell at 681-0367.
Additionally, those who wish to volunteer during the week can contact Project Manager Richard Lawes at 681-5090 to schedule a time.
