Clara Lee “Lucy” Jensen, 74, of Blackfoot, passed away on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from complications of a stroke.
Lucy was born on March 27, 1937 in Soda Springs to Fredrick and Jane Johnson Kern. She was raised in the Soda Springs area and graduated from Soda Springs High School.
In 1955 Lucy married Thomas W. Kirkpatrick and together they had one son, Thomas. Throughout their years together they moved to many different locations while Thomas worked in the heavy construction industry. They were divorced in 1982 and in 1983 Clara married Keith Jensen. She and Keith resided together in the Blackfoot area until Keith’s passing on Oct. 7, 2011.
Lucy was a chef and had worked at most of the restaurants in the Blackfoot area. She was employed by Homestead Farms restaurant from their first day of business until her retirement in 2010.
She enjoyed fishing and camping; especially in the Blackfoot Reservoir area. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Lucy is survived by her son Tom (Lori) Kirkpatrick of Blackfoot; a brother, Russ (Leeann) Kern of Blackfoot; three sisters, Amelia Gillis of Boise; Margaret (Bob) Abbott of Cashmere, Wash.; and Orsaline Doris (Jim) Anderson of Joliet, Illinois; two grandsons, Tommy W. (Madalyn) and Jason S., both of Blackfoot; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Ellie, and Riley Kirkpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her parents, and a brother Fredrick.
According to Lucy’s wishes no funeral services will be held at this time. Arrangements have been under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling in Blackfoot.
