Alice Mae Cottle Hulse, 86, a loving, valiant servant returned with honors to be with her heavenly family on Friday, July 6, 2012, at the home of her daughter, Susanne, of natural causes.
Alice was born on July 10, 1925 in Stone, Idaho, to Leland Thomas and Clara Irene Anderson Cottle. Following high school graduation she attended college. During her lifetime she has lived in numerous places in Utah and South Dakota, then made a permanent home in Idaho.
On Feb. 29, 1944, she married Boyd LaVon Hulse in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.
Alice was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling numerous calling in the organizations of the church. In her later years, she and Boyd served a LDS Mission in Prescott, Arizona.
She was active in The Daughters of Utah Pioneers, a leader in 4-H and was an enthuastic participant in Square Dancing Club. Alice was very talented and worked magic with her hands. She loved to crochet, knit, quilt, do hardanger, Brazilian embroidery, needlepoint and sew. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and music. In her later years she dedicated her time and talents to genealogy.
She is survived by her children: Marsha (Steve) Chandler of Arco; Keith LaVon (Ruby) Hulse of Filer; Wanda (Richard) Baker of Hagerman;Shirley (Karl) Bame of Firth;Dianna (Richard) Jones of Queen Creek, Ariz.; Karl Boyd (Rebecca) Hulse of Prosser, Wash.; Judy Bell of Burley;Linda E. (Pedro) Ayala of Edinburg, Texas; and Susanne (Lorin) Walton of Blackfoot; 37 grandchildren, 59great-grandchildren and five brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; three children, Roy, Raymond and Carol; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one son-in-law and two sisters.
The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Jerome 1st Ward Chapel, 825 E. B Street, Jerome. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the church in Jerome. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls.
